Published 2 months ago • 2 min read

Good morning, Reader, and welcome to this week's weekend update!

I'm your host Christin Cieslarski. Let's dive right in! 🤓

Happy Saturday!

We just got back from Cancun yesterday. I'd love to tell you that it was really not that great, and I'm so glad to be back in the winter weather...

But we both know that would be a lie 😂.

However, if we close our eyes right now, we can be back on the beach in the 80 degree weather together. 🌴🍹

Alright... back to reality!

In the spirit of making some progress with our own two hands, the headlines this week are all around budget-friendly DIY projects that you can knock out quickly with maximum impact and not a lot of extra skill.

Let's dive in!

🙋🏼‍♀️ Ask the Decorator

Q: How hard is it to hang wallpaper?

A: Truth be told, I've never hung actual wallpaper. It kind of freaks me out. I'm not totally against it because I know the technology is so much better in this day and age, but I just haven't gotten my mind ready to tackle something that feels so permanent. But that's why I love peel-and-stick wallpaper. Some claim it's harder, but I did not find that to be the case at all. I did both my kid's closets and I think it turned out beautifully. So many have said hanging regular wallpaper is even easier, so my vote... just do it!

Since I've been doing all kinds of research, I thought it would be fun to step away from the home decor for today and geek out over all the things I bought on Amazon for travel, both for plane and car trips. Hi Reader! I read a stat the other day that said 75 percent of Americans experienced moderate to high stress levels in the past month. That feels right 🫠 We all know that living in an organized home is a great way to relieve stress, but the product of that is one of the most consistent forms of relaxation... Having a sanctuary at home. If you want to start creating a sanctuary at home so you can be back in your happy place again, I have a few organization projects I've completed that I highly...

Hi Reader! Yesterday, I was on a call with one of my readers (hii 👋🏼 Jess!). She booked the discovery call with me because she spent the last year updating the orange-y wood in her 1950s home to all white, lime-washing the fireplace, and bringing a new light gray couch. Her dilemma? It's all now TOO neutral. I actually run into this problem with clients a lot because it's easy to forget that visual interest is a hugely important aspect of room design. Now, let's be clear: there's nothing...
